Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Luncheon: How to Manage Your Work-Life Stress Like a Boss

old saybrook chamber of commerce women in business Lauren drago therapist

Here's a sneak peek into the contents of my upcoming talk at the next Women in Business Luncheon through the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce. It is on Tuesday, March 27th at 11:30am at the Saybrook Point Inn & Spa.

The talk is titled "How to Manage Your Work-Life Stress Like a Boss." During a delicious lunch with other like-minded business ladies, I'll be sharing my insight and best tips on how to stay mindful while you powerfully shift your thinking to better manage stress and anxiety. I draw on my past experience as a clinical supervisor who managed, grew and motivated teams of masters level clinicians, as well as my expertise as a women's mental health clinician, to provide you with a unique perspective on the power of self-talk in our ability to navigate our inner world of high expectations.

As women, we take on a tremendous load at home while still committing ourselves wholly in our work and business life. In this process our own needs tend to take a backseat. We are excellent at putting others first, and yet the effects of this potential overload trickle into our ability to live our most joyful, present, and healthy lives possible.

What women need to recognize and own is that ultimately, we are our own life's best employee. After all, who do you trust and rely on the most? And yet we rarely treat ourselves that way.

A great boss would ask her valued employees:

What do you need more of?

What’s working for you? What’s not working for you?

What gives you energy and where do you draw your passions?

What might help you feel more successful or supported right now?

What parts of this do you have control over, and what parts might be out of your control that need to be let go?

When is the last time you gave yourself the space to ask and answer these same questions about your work and/or personal life?

What would your life be like if you talked to yourself the way a great boss would treat her most valued employee? What would your life be like if you gave yourself the same flexibility, support, acknowledgement, and motivation that an effective and compassionate leader would give you?

I can almost guarantee that the results would be astounding.

I invite you to find out for yourself how handling your work-life stress like a boss could help you! Follow this link to register for the luncheon. I hope to see you there!

Best,

Lauren
